Ad Astra is an innovative eSports team based in Germany, striving to elevate its presence in the rapidly growing digital entertainment landscape. With the eSports industry expanding into mainstream entertainment, the team needed a visual identity and brand strategy that not only resonated with the core gaming community but also positioned the brand for broader audience engagement.
We were tasked with leading the creative direction of Ad Astra’s rebranding, creating a bold and aspirational identity inspired by their name - "Ad Astra" - which translates to "to the stars." This phrase captured the team's ambitious vision and their drive to transcend the traditional eSports realm. Our approach encompassed a deep immersion into the world of eSports, analyzing fan culture, gaming trends, and live event environments to ensure the brand’s identity was both relevant and forward-thinking. Recognizing the potential for eSports to break into mainstream entertainment, our goal was to create a brand that would resonate with current fans while also appealing to new, broader audiences. This meant integrating branding elements that were contemporary, bold, and aligned with the aspirational and competitive nature of the industry.
In this dynamic collaboration with Ad Astra, we led the creation of a robust visual identity and comprehensive branding system designed to elevate the eSports team's standing in an increasingly competitive market. Drawing inspiration from the Latin phrase "Ad Astra," meaning "to the stars," we aligned the team's visual and conceptual branding with the aspirational nature of eSports itself - a rapidly evolving industry poised to become a mainstream entertainment powerhouse. Our approach centered around bold design choices that resonated with the competitive spirit and passion of eSports fans, while also setting the stage for the team's expansion into a broader, more diverse audience.
